About Us

At Breathe Yourself Better we offer valuable resources, including informative how-to videos and engaging blogs, to help individuals seeking guidance on respiratory health. Our platform connects visitors to podcasts, social media content, 1:1 breathwork coaching appointments and online workshops and courses.

Our unique approach, which combines diverse techniques, has proven effective for those with chronic respiratory issues, fostering empowerment and self-management in breathing practices.

Our founder, Jackie Craig, has undergone extensive training in a range of breathing techniques, including the Accent Method, Buteyko Method, Pranayama practices and Physiotherapy for Breathing Pattern Disorders and as a result has devised a practice that can be adapted to suit the needs of the individual through 1:1 tailor-made breathwork coaching sessions.

She incorporates voicework into the technique, thereby training users to control their breath whilst making sound as well as just during respiration, which makes her method stand out as being essential for those who struggle daily to control their breath whilst speaking, moving or at rest.

Jackie is also a qualified teacher and holds an Enhanced DBS.

Our Services
Breathing Coaching

Improve your breathing techniques from the comfort of your home with  1:1 breathing coaching to help you manage your chronic respiratory condition.

In the first session your breathing patterns will be observed and assessed and you will be asked to give details of how your breathing affects your daily life, both physically and emotionally.  You will be taught some simple exercises and given some to do regularly in between sessions in order to gain the best results.

You will receive a recording of  each of your sessions so you can refer back to them in your own time, as well as a summary of what was covered and what is recommended for you to do before your next session.

Please note the recordings and materials are for your own use only, as sessions are tailored to each individual's needs and therefore cannot be guaranteed to be effective for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have any prior knowledge of breathwork to benefit from breathing coaching?

No, you do not need to have ever undertaken any breathwork coaching or retraining in order to benefit from our sessions.  All sessions are 1:1 and designed to cater for each individual's needs, so will target whatever is suitable for you at a pace to suit you too.

I am on oxygen therapy.  Can I still benefit from breathing coaching?

Yes, absolutely!  The techniques you will learn help you to cope better with your breathlessness symptoms and you will be able to do them either with or without your oxygen, so you can continue to use it as instructed by your physician during the session if required.

I have been told my condition is incurable.  Is it worth me trying to alter the way I breathe?

Past results have shown that even if you have an irreversible respiratory condition it is always worth learning how to control your breath and to breathe more efficiently.  Past clients have reported requiring their rescue inhalers less often once they have learnt how to control their breathlessness symptoms, and that they are able to move around more easily without getting out of breath, so their quality of life significantly improves.

What do I need to start breathwork coaching sessions?

All you need is a computer, tablet or mobile phone that is attached to the internet and has a camera and microphone.  Sessions are conducted over Zoom.  When you book you will receive an email with a link to join the session.  Just click on the link at the time specified.  If you are joining via a mobile phone or tablet you will need to download the Zoom app beforehand to prevent any problems joining on the day.  You may also want to check your camera and microphone are working prior to your first session so we can get straight into the session without any technical hiccups.  Again, instructions on how to do this will be sent to you the day before your first appointment.
